Volunteer at Tyodha Madhyamik School in Kathmandu, Nepal
Tyouda Madhyamic Vidyalaya is a government funded local school for children Grades 1-7. Their primary role is to educate based on the Nepalese Government school curriculum and guidelines. This placement needs volunteers to help teach English, as hearing and practicing English from people who have English as their first language is very valuable to Nepalese students.
Volunteers can help by doing the following tasks:
Teach English to students within the range of Grade 1-10. Teaching Math and Science would also be really appreciated and valuable to the school. Organize and join in with games or sports on school breaks. This placement does not need any volunteer in the month of Mar and Dec.

Child & Youth Worker
Early Childhood Education
At-Risk Youth Work
Leadership Programming
Day Care Work
Teacher – English
Teacher – Math
TEFL Certificaiton / Training
Soccer
Educational Games
Volunteers are preferred to be patience, public speaking, open and creative with solid background/knowledge of the English language and teaching background. At least a high school diploma and preferably some University education.
Location description
Kathmandu sits inside a valley where you can see the Himalaya peaking over the foot hills first thing in the morning while the fog lifts. With an interesting mix of new and old you can find yourself caught up in the hectic city pace of traffic, honking horns and department stores with brand name goods at one moment, and then you turn a corner and step back in time were only bicycles and cows travel and shopping is done in traditional open air markets
